Impossible Expectations

Greed has poisoned people's souls,

And vanity keeps us imprisoned,

It has left us with an empty hole,

Forcing us into division,

Fighting forever aimlessly,

To try and gain notoriety,

And try to outdo one another,

But what is the purpose of that?

Why even bother,

I can see a world with no borders,

No division in what people try to be,

And not disgraced in what value we hold for one another,

That's a world I would like to see,

By putting aside our anger,

We would have a clear vision of what needs to be done,

Even I think it is just one,

Treat people the way you want to be treated,

The trouble of the past doesn't need to be repeated,

That's what we all don't need.
